ABOUT
My journey as a ceramic artist began when a friend invited me to an event at a pottery studio in Cincinnati, Ohio. After spending the evening throwing on a wheel, I was hooked and decided to sign up for a class to learn more. One class led to another, and 20+ years later, I am still learning.
My work is heavily influenced by my background in chemical engineering and product innovation. I approach clay with curiosity, a lot of experimenting, and genuine delight when something unexpected happens. I am always exploring new ways to create complex colors, textures, and surface effects, which is what draws me to raku, soda and wood atmospheric firing, and crystalline glazes. The outcomes are never fully predictable and the search for answers is endless.
I make both jewelry and functional pieces using porcelain and stoneware clays. Most of my pieces are one-of-a-kind and I could not reproduce them even if I tried due to the firing techniques I use.Recent Exhibitions
